UK: The Busby Hotel in Clarkston, East Renfrewshire, Scotland has undergone a 10 month refurb and will open on October 23.

The property, which is part of the Manorview Hotel and Leisure Group, which owns a portfolio of boutique hotels across the central belt of Scotland.

The group is looking to expand, specialising in converting period properties and converting them to boutique hotels.

The Busby Hotel features a new restaurant and bar, a new dining conservatory, two function suites, 28 bedrooms, and a honeymoon suite with its own garden and hot tub.

The group has recruited 70 new staff who have undergone a detailed training programme over the last eight weeks.

Councillor Tony Buchanan, East Renfrewshire’s convener for infrastructure and sustainable growth, said: “This is welcome news for the area and offers a great opportunity for local people to find much needed employment.”

The hotel will join a select band of properties in Scotland with ‘WorldHost accredited’ status, with all the front of house team undergoing the ‘WorldHost’ customer service training programme.
