Worldwide: Condé Nast Traveller has released the results of its annual Readers’ Choice Awards, featuring multiple boutique hotels.
Seven boutique properties were voted onto the top 50 list, the secondary lists including even more
The Readers’ Choice Awards, held annually by Condé Nast Traveller, provides a survey for the magazine’s readers to rate a wide variety of global travel properties. Ratings for a pre-selected list of candidates were scored on a 100-point scale, with properties scoring high enough and receiving enough reviews earning a spot on the list.
Jesse Ashlock, US editor of Condé Nast Traveller, said: “The results of this year’s survey, conducted at the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, are a testament to the lasting power of a meaningful travel experience. The winners represent the best of the best for our audience and offer plenty of trip-planning inspiration for all the adventures we can’t wait to have next.”
The top 50 awards include multiple boutique properties worldwide, including Hôtel 7 in Quebec, Archer Hotel in Austin, The Ivey’s in North Carolina, and Hôtel D’Angleterre in Geneva. Highest on the hotel list is Aranwa Cusco Boutique Hotel, which ranked third worldwide, while L’Horizon Resort and Spa, which features the L’Horizon boutique hotel, ranked first on the list of resorts.
Individual countries also provided their own list, with the UK list featuring hotels such as The Torridon, Dormy House, and The Gleneagles Hotel, which took first. The list also made space for an extended stay property, with AKA’s Beverly Hills property ranking at 33 worldwide.
Independent hotel company Preferred Hotels won heavily, with 90 properties worldwide under the brand featuring on either the world’s best or country’s best list. These include some of the top hotels in South America, North America, and Europe.
CEO Lindsey Ueberroth, Preferred CEO, said: “Now more than ever, these awards offer the perfect opportunity to celebrate the beauty of the independent hotel experience and the rich impact travel has on individuals and our global society, while also daydreaming about our next travel experience. It’s an incredible honour to stand alongside our esteemed member properties and their leadership teams as they are recognized for their ability to provide the best of the best in independent hospitality.”
