Independent Hotel Show awards voting opens

UK: Nominees for the Independent Hotelier of the Year 2014 and Outstanding Hotel of the Year 2014 have been announced.

UK: Nominees for the Independent Hotelier of the Year 2014 and Outstanding Hotel of the Year 2014 have been announced.

The awards will be presented at the 2014 Independent Hotel Show in London on October 21st.

The Independent Hotelier of the Year Award recognises hoteliers who have made a significant contribution to the independent luxury and boutique hotel sector. Last year’s award went to Terence and Vicki Conran, and Peter Prescott, from east London’s Boundary Hotel.

The 2014 nominees are:
• Craig Bancroft and Nigel Haworth – Northcote Manor
• Kit and Tim Kemp – Firmdale Hotels
• Mark Sainsbury, Michael Benyan and Jason Catifeoglou – The Zetter and Zetter Townhouse
• Ian Schrager – Ian Schrager Company
• David Levin – The Capital Hotel
• Tim Hart – Hambleton Hall and Harts

The Outstanding Hotel of the Year Award recognises new entrants to the market who have made a significant impact through their commitment to dynamism and innovation over the last three years. Last year’s winner was The Pig in Brockenhurst.

The 2014 nominees are:
• Chiltern Firehouse, London
• The Lord Crewe Arms, Blanchland, County Durham
• Ham Yard Hotel, London
• No 131, Cheltenham
• The Pig on the Beach, Studland, Dorset
• The Wild Rabbit, Oxfordshire
