Oman: Sifawy Boutique Hotel and Juweira Hotel have signed up with the Environmental Society of Oman’s ESO campaign to help preserve Oman’s natural heritage.

The campaign urges the guests at both hotels to donate OMR1 for the cause each time they stay. Developer Muriy says this token contribution “will not only go a long way in providing funding for ESO’s diverse portfolio of projects and activities, but equally, it will signal broad popular support for the society’s exemplary work in environmental stewardship”.

“Although symbolic in monetary terms, this gesture connects our multinational clientele with the ideals championed by the ESO through its many activities and projects. In effect, our guests become stakeholders in the collective national goal of preserving Oman’s unspoiled natural beauty,” said Daniel Fanselow, GM for Sifawy Boutique Hotel and Juweira Hotel.

“ESO is dedicated to the preservation of Oman’s natural heritage through conservation management, creating awareness and community outreach. All funds donated by guests will go towards the management of our research projects and awareness raising efforts. Sifah boasts of a beautiful coastline with an expansive sea that is home to many species of whales and dolphins – creating awareness and protecting these species is the main aim of our Renaissance whale & dolphin research project,” said Lamees Daar, executive director of ESO.

Muriya is a joint venture of Omran, the wholly Omani government-owned tourism investment company, and Switzerland-based Orascom Holding Company. It is developing a portfolio of high-end mixed-used tourism and residential projects, notably in Salalah, Muscat and Sodah Island.
