Nobu set to enter boutique hotel market

UAE: Nobu, the upscale Japanese restaurant brand, is set to open its first boutique hotel next year – in Saudi Arabia.

Nobu Hospitality, which is jointly owned by Japanese chef Nobu Matsuhisa, actor Robert De Niro and Meir Teper, has signed an agreement to manage a luxury hotel in Riyadh.

The Nobu Hotel Riyadh, owned by Dhaliliyah Investments, will opening in 2013, and will house a Nobu restaurant. The hotel will be run by a joint venture called Saudi Nobu.

Dr Mashary, managing director of Dhaliliyah, said: “We are looking forward to creating a luxurious and elegant hotel which will become a destination for the local community and visitors alike. The reputation of Nobu Hospitality as an iconic international brand, renowned for its hospitality creations, makes it an ideal partner for us.”
