Argentina: Boutique hotel operator P Hotels has added the Arelauquen Lodge in Barriloche to its portfolio.
The 28-suite property is just outside the lakeside resort town of San Carlos de Bariloche in the grounds of the Arelauquen Golf & Country Club.
A renovation of the lodge into a five-star property and restaurant is underway, with the first guests expected in November during the Argentine spring.
The Arelauquen Golf & Country Club features what P Hotels describes as the best golf course and polo club in the region. The Cerro Catedral ski resort is a ten minute drive away, and fishing, biking, hiking, hunting and other activities are available in the region.
P Hotels also operates the Palermo Place and Palermo Tower hotels in Buenos Aires, and the Auberge du Vin, in the Mendoza wine region, is expected to open in April 2014.
The hotel portfolio and management company is owned by US-based Grupo EMR, which has also launched Residence Club Of Argentina (RCA), described as “a worry-free, no-hassle way to own real estate in P Hotels’ three locations”.

Rubio has teamed up with DCP International, which pioneered the luxury residence club concept, to create RCA. Members will have equity interests in Buenos Aires, Mendoza and Bariloche hotel suites and unlimited use, subject only to the club’s reservation policies.
“The only thing our members have to worry about is when they are returning for another incredible vacation in a truly amazing country,” said Rubio.
