Spain: Ibiza-based Palladium Hotel Group has launched the BLESS Collection of luxury hotels, and will open the first BLESS property in Madrid this December.
The first property will open in Madrid this December 2018, followed by Ibiza in 2019. Further hotels will be rolled out in cosmopolitan cities and international holiday destinations.
BLESS Hotel Madrid will be located on Calle de Velázquez in the heart of the city’s Salamanca district, offering 111 rooms, a rooftop pool, a bowling alley, spa and gym, restaurant, three bars and conference spaces.
The hotel’s gastronomic offering – from breakfast to dinner – will be headed up by Basque chef Martin Berasategui. Holder of eight Michelin stars (more than any other Spanish chef), Berasategui’s eponymous restaurant has been voted “the best restaurant in the world”. Berasategui will act as the hotel’s gastronomic guru overseeing all food and beverage, with his signature restaurant, Etxeco, set to become “a true destination culinary experience”.
The property’s interiors have been designed by Spanish designer and architect Lázaro Rosa-Violan, whose vision is to create “a quintessentially Madrilenian character with a contemporary slant”. Key design features “will include ‘sensory architecture’ that will define the hotel ambience, collaborative work spaces and social areas”.
The hotel will also present a programme of entertainment drawing on the destination’s cultural agenda – from art and culture to fashion and gastronomy. These “happenings” will include from live music, fashion shows, pop-ups, performance and visual art, and photography exhibitions.
