Worldwide: Porsche Design Group and Steigenberger Hotels AG will launch Steigenberger Porsche Design Hotels in a number of cities globally.

Jan Becker, CEO of Porsche Design Group, and Marcus Bernhardt, CEO of Steigenberger Hotels AG, signed the agreement at the Steigenberger Icon Hotel Frankfurter Hof.

The concept, positioned in the luxury lifestyle segment, will see a series of hotels open in key international cities.

Becker said: “Steigenberger Hotels and Resorts and Porsche Design share common values. We demand the highest standards of quality and exclusive design and strive for continuous development. Together we want to offer our guests a completely new hotel experience.”

Bernhardt added: “Our two companies unite the very best of both worlds. Porsche Design brings a unique design philosophy to the partnership. And there is scarcely any company in the hotel business other than Steigenberger which has brought so much quality, service and passion to bear over a period of more than 90 years. With these strengths we create a new and exciting product that will encourage people to rediscover the hotel sector.”

Porsche Design was founded in 1972 as an extension of the company’s automotive business into multiple products.

The German hotel group Steigenberger first launched in 1930 with the opening of Europäischer Hof in Baden-Baden. To date, the company operates 160 hotels across three continents.

Deutsche Hospitality is the parent company of Steigenberger. The group was acquired by China’s Huazhu Group last year.
