Worldwide: Rosewood Hotels & Resorts has introduced a cultural programme whereby local ambassadors from across the arts, sustainability and wellness industries take up residence at Rosewood properties.

PlaceMakers span six pillars of expertise: art and entertainment, style and design, food and beverage, health and wellbeing, family and lifestyle, and sustainability.

The first PlaceMakers will take up residence at Rosewood’s London, Phuket and Beijing hotels. 

Wellness practitioners Boniface Verney-Carron and Catie Millar have developed an on-demand wellness portal in-room at Rosewood London. It will include meditation, workouts and bedtime stories, as well as a digital detox, personalised fitnesss sessions, a nutrition guide in collaboration with the hotel’s culinary team and a natural wakeup call by a personal butler.

Michael Bonsor, managing director at Rosewood London, said: “We’re delighted to be launching this unique campaign at Rosewood London in collaboration with our very first PlaceMakers Boniface and Catie. In today’s world, our guest prioritises wellness and experiential stays more than ever. The innovation and philosophy behind Boniface’s and Catie’s practices make them the perfect candidates to open this programme with.”

At Rosewood Phuket, Philip Huang – a sustainable clothing designer – will host a weekend-long series of activities including dying workshops and a lesson on how to repurpose plants, food and foliage into art. 

Liu Min and Ian Hylton of Ms MIN (of the Chinese luxury fashion label) will redesign the Beijing House, the largest suite at Rosewood Beijing, to coordinate fashion showings. The space will be used to showcase Ms MIN’s fall/winter 2021 collection as well as host Chinese calligraphy workshops.

Other PlaceMakers to be introduced in the coming months include Johanna Ho at Rosewood Hong Kong, a sustainable fashion designer, and Emiko Davies at Rosewood Castiglion del Bosco, cookbook author and food photographer.

The longstanding program will announce additional names throughout 2021 and beyond.
