Singapore: The Sultan Hotel, a 64-room hotel has been awarded the Singapore Urban Redevelopment Authority’s Architectural Heritage Award.
The boutique property is located in two traditional early 20th century former shophouses in Kampong Glam, near Bugis Street and Singapore’s Sultan Mosque.
The Sultan retains many of its original architectural features such as tall columns, wide arcs, intricate moldings and full-length shuttered windows. – all these exulting an old Singapore charm.
The URA praised the fact that corridors and access passages to guest rooms are naturally ventilated, making them environmentally friendly and easily accessible to disabled guests.
