Worldwide: Marketing consortium Small Luxury Hotels of the World has launched a Wellbeing Collection with 15 global luxury hotels.

Each of the 15 founding members promote the three pillars of wellbeing: rest, reconnection and resilience. This means that amenities and services move beyond therapeutic treatments, healthy eating and fitness activities to offer “experiences or environments that support physical, mental, and emotional health”.

Properties must meet eight of the following 12 criteria:

1.  Heartfelt hospitality
2.  Healthy, comprehensive cuisine
3.  Mindfulness and meditation programmes
4.  Environmental sustainability
5.  Community engagement
6.  Nature-based experiences
7.  Holistic design and atmosphere
8.  Guest inclusivity
9.  Progressive hotel culture and staff wellbeing
10. Personalised wellbeing plans
11. Educational workshops
12. Wellness-focused facilities

Members of the Wellbeing Collection receive an official seal of approval from SLH’s Wellbeing Industry Experts, including spa editor Susan d’Arcy and Dominique Antiglio, founder of BeSophro – an online platform to enhance mental wellbeing and resilience.

Richard Hyde, chief operating officer of Small Luxury Hotels of the World, said: “Following an increased desire from guests for wellbeing and inner sustainability, we’ve created the Wellbeing Collection by carefully filtering the hotels in our portfolio to spotlight those that offer heartfelt hospitality somewhere peaceful, where they can immerse themselves in nature-based experiences, the local culture, educational workshops and wellness-focused facilities, to feel enriched, unplug for their daily lives and truly relax.”
