US: Viceroy Hotel Group will operate a 180-room hotel in downtown Chicago being built by developer Don Wilson.

Wilson’s company, Chicago-based Convexity Properties, has submitted plans for the 18-storey Gold Coast property to the Chicago City Council. The project will include a rooftop pool and terrace and preserve the four-story brick and terra cotta facade of the existing cedar Hotel property on the site.

A Viceroy spokeswoman said: “The brand is currently in the process of finalizing many exciting up-and-coming expansion projects, Chicago being one of them, and we will have more information to share in early 2015.”
