Leading UK real estate conference organisers Boutique Hotel Media and Fractional Life are delighted to announce the launch of an innovative new event for the UK leisure real estate sector. Leisure Real Estate Summit is designed to provide hotel and other leisure real estate asset owners, asset managers and investors with new and complementary strategies to create real value, identifying routes to investment in order to release the potential of UK and international assets. The event represents a broadening of focus from the highly successful Fractional Summit Europe, which has taken place in London annually since 2008. It is a reaction to both the continued difficult economic situation, and the growing synergies and crossovers between various elements of the international mixed-use leisure real estate sector, including hotels, second home ownership, fractional ownership, private residence clubs, REITs and vacation rental. Event organiser Piers Brown said: “In today’s leisure real estate market, paralysed by spiralling costs, flat or declining revenues and a general lack of investment or acquisition funding, the Leisure Real Estate Summit is intended to provide an opportunity for industry professionals to meet, network, learn and share best practice. It also recognises the growing trend towards mixed-use developments, and represents a new concept in b2b conferencing for the sector. It will bring together leaders and innovators from across the industry to share knowledge and experiences.” “The fractional ownership market is still very important to us but we have launched Leisure Real Estate to recognise the changing market, the surge in mixed-use projects, and the necessity for asset owners to make the very best of what they have in these difficult times,” said Brown. Chris Allen, business development director at Citadel Trustees, one of the event sponsors, said: “It’s good to see the conference evolving and widening its focus. Our industry has inevitably been affected by the continuing global economic downturn, so the focus on maximising assets is very welcome, as is the expanded subject matter. The London Fractional Summits quickly became a fixture in the shared ownership sector, and I have no doubt Leisure Real Estate Summit will do the same for the wider lesiure real estate market — we are delighted to support the event.” The 2013 conference has a new structure with sessions split between two separate areas covering fractional ownership and more general leisure real estate sessions. In the main hall, topics covered will include a market overview, cost management strategies, asset management, branding, and case studies. Other sessions include cover exchange programmes, vacation rental, equity funds, travel clubs, and strategic brand alliances.
