Hats off to Penta Hotels for getting hands on in its commitment to environmental issues.
On World Cleanup Day, Penta employees dedicated 980 working hours in support of local communities, participating in the clean ups of local parks, rivers and beaches.
Eugène Staal, president of Penta Hotels Worldwide, said: “Giving is an act that makes this world a better place. By giving, we do not simply want to transfer money to another bank account. We really want to make an impact, get involved directly and get our hands dirty.”
Last December, the brand launched the #PentaGives initiative as a core component of its global social responsibility campaign. Other initiatives include the mission to go completely carbon neutral by 2030, eradicating single-use plastic, co-operating with sustainable brands, and encouraging guests and staff to take part in socially conscious community activities. This year, Penta organised five major beach cleans, including one as part of its sponsorship of Cornwall’s Boardmasters Festival.
It’s easy to pay lip service to sustainability but Penta is showing a genuine commitment to the cause.
