US: Pebblebrook Hotel Trust has paid $125 million for the 258-room property, which will continue to be managed by Starwood.
The hotel, in the Westwood neighborhood, will undergo a multimillion-dollar renovation of its public spaces. Its amenities include a heated pool, 3,300 square feet of indoor meeting space, a Bliss Spa and three F&B outlets.
The W Los Angeles-Westwood had 84 per cent occupancy and average nightly rates of $258 during 2011. Pebblebrook now has 24 hotels, including three in the Los Angeles area.
Starwood is selling off its real estate portfolio to focus on management operations. Last week it also sold the 520-room W Chicago-Lakeshore to Chesapeake Lodging Trust for $126 million.
