US: Commune Hotels & Resorts has announced plans for two east coat Joie de Vivre properties, in Miami and New York.

US: Commune Hotels & Resorts has announced plans for two east coat Joie de Vivre properties, in Miami and New York.

The new properties are The Hall in Miami Beach and 50 Bowery in New York City’s Bowery neighbourhood.  They will join existing JDV properties in Hawaii, the Midwest, south-west and west coast regions.

The Hall is in Miami Beach’s Art Deco District at 15th Street and Collins Avenue. Miami-based architectural firm ADD Inc. and interior design firm Robert McKinley Creative will renovate the 164-room hotel and adjacent apartment complex, which will open in summer 2015.

50 Bowery is a new-build 22-storey, 229-room hotel designed by Peter Poon Architects and Wimberly Interiors. It will feature a cellar lounge and a rooftop bar with panoramic views of the city’s skyline, It is scheduled to open in 2016.
