UK: The Coaching Inn Group will be returning to a CapEx strategy for 2027, while introducing two leadership appointments.
The group will be investing £8-10 million in CapEx next year between enhancing its existing estate and supporting future growth opportunities. A large portion of that programme will focus on investing in and upgrading properties such as The Royal Oak in Welshpool, and two sites which were transferred over from RedCat Hospitality in February. The group is also working to 15 new bedrooms to The Feathers in Ledbury.
“The plans we are setting out now demonstrate our renewed sense of energy, creativity and ambition,” the group’s managing director Adam Charity said. “Our investments will be rooted in creating better experiences for our guests, offering a more consistent Coaching Inn Group proficiency while making sure each property retains its own character, heritage and appeal. By balancing investment in our existing hotels with our future acquisition plans, we can continue to meet evolving customer expectations while building a stronger, more resilient business for the future.”
In addition, the Coaching Inn Group has announced two new leadership roles: David Phillips as property director, and Malcolm Storey as head of food. Phillips will be looking at acquisition opportunities that are in line with the Coaching Inn Group’s existing portfolio, whereas Storey has been promoted to his position to help further develop the group’s kitchens and restaurants.
“I am very excited to be leading the charge on the CapEx strategy for the Coaching Inn Group,” Phillips said. “Independent and as authentic as ever, we’re ambitious, but also methodical with the decision making, and the priority is finding the right opportunities rather than the most opportunities. If the right assets appear, we’d like to continue to grow the estate, but only if we’re confident that they will have positive, long-term effects on the business.”
To further its digital infrastructure, the Coaching Inn Group will also be launching “Journey by Coaching Inn Group,” a new loyalty app designed to reward repeat visits, strengthen engagement and enhance the overall customer experience.
