Kaya Hotels buys first property in Spain

Spain: Turkish group Kaya Hotels & Resorts has purchased the five star ME Barcelona from Spanish real estate developer Actual Capital for a reported €100 million.

ME Barcelona opened in 2021 and is located close to Passeig de Gràcia. It features 164 rooms, a restaurant, two bars, and eight meeting rooms. 

From 2028, Kaya plans to operate the hotel as the Kaya Palazzo Barcelona.

The Barcelona property joins a portfolio of 14 hotels across Turkey and Northern Cyprus. Upcoming openings include two resorts in Bolu and Bafra, as well as a hotel and residences in Ankara. 

Earlier this year, Kaya bought the leasehold of the Kaya Great Northern Hotel in London’s King’s Cross for £20 million.
