Bab Al Shams Desert Resort opens under Rare Finds

Bab Al Shams

UAE: Bab Al Shams Desert Resort located on the outskirts of Dubai has opened as the first property in Kerzner’s Rare Finds hotel collection.

The resort offers 115 rooms and suites housed across 16 two-storey buildings. Kerzer assumed management of the site in 2022 before it closed in May for a renovation.

Amenities include two F&B venues, two lounges, a kid’s club, indoor and outdoor event space for 500 guests, and a spa.

Al Hadheerah combines open-air dining with live entertainment such as dancers, musicians, falconers and camel riders. The resort’s main restaurant, Zala, serves Ottoman and Greek-inspired cuisine.

Ya Hala is the resort’s cigar and speakeasy lounge, whilst rooftop lounge Anwā Sunset Lounge serves pan-Asian cuisine.

At the centre of the Bab Al Shams, guests will find an infinity pool with sun loungers and private cabanas alongside a swim-up pool bar and family pool.

A variety of activities are also available to book, such as horse-riding, camelback trekking, falconry, off-road desert drives, and more. For children there’s an outdoor sand playground with zip line.

“The reimagined Bab Al Shams is a legacy project that we are proud and passionate to present,” said general manager, Gilles Soheir. “The team and I are thrilled to bring forward the essence and stories of this sanctuary to bring an authentic Bedouin experience alight.”
