UK: Construction work on the now 65-bedroom Bike & Boot Inn is complete, with the final touches to be finished by the middle of June.
The hotel features a 100-cover bar and grill restaurant, walking and surfing drying rooms, dog and boot wash area, bike storage, and an in-house cinema.
Rachel McLane designed the interiors, and worked alongside Infiniti Roofing & Construction from November 2019 when work on the former Mount Hotel began.
In preparation for the lockdown, the company bought all necessary materials beforehand to complete the work. Contractors were kept separate, with each team working sequentially from the ground floor up.
Owners Simon Rhatigan and Simon Kershaw purchased the property in January 2019, and intend to roll out the Bike & Brand initially across the North of England.
Kershaw said: “Infiniti have successfully worked through the Covid-19 situation; that has been a real bonus as they have ensured the safety of all contractors, with social distancing measures and safe working practices.”
Marcus Rowe, director of Infiniti Roofing & Construction, said: “While it goes without saying that this has been a very difficult time for the whole country, seeing this project through to completion has given us a massive sense of achievement and satisfaction.”
The Scarborough opening marks the debut of the Bike & Boot brand – a “modern leisure” concept with “funky interiors”.
Further expansion is planned in the Yorkshire Dales, Peak District or Lake District.
