UK: Craft beer company BrewDog has opened its first hotel on Manchester’s Fountain Street.
DogHouse Manchester, an 18-bed hotel, marks the first UK location for BrewDog. The DogHouse concept was first announced in 2017 with the opening of a site in Columbus, Ohio one year later.
At the Manchester property, rooms come with king-sized beds, plasma TVs, a beer tap, as well as a beer fridge in the shower. Courtesy of Piccadilly Records, a vinyl selection is also available in the room.
Up on the rooftop, there’s a bar complete with a taco hut and 10 different beers on tap.
In line with the brand’s sustainability efforts, a living wall of 26,000 plants has been installed. Guests are also able to hire Brompton bikes and are rewarded complimentary beers for reusing room towels.
Other benefits for DogHouse guests include free passes to the local gym, 24-hour hotdogs which can be ordered via WhatsApp, and dog-friendly access.
James Watt, BrewDog’s cofounder, said: “DogHouse Manchester marks a new era for the craft beer revolution. In the last ten years we’ve turned the craft beer scene on its head and are once again demonstrating the power of beer. As always, our army of Punks fuels every mission and the DogHouse is just a small part of the epic journey we’re making together.
“From welcome pints of Punk, to in-shower beer fridges; The DogHouse is our gift to the passionate and dedicated army of beer fans that have supported us every step of the way. We are nothing without our community and this hotel celebrates that and where better to do it than in one of the UK’s greatest cities? With our DogHouse hotels, we want to inspire a new kind of hospitality experience, combining our biggest passions: travel and incredible beer – with sustainability at its core.”
