US: Marriott International and Another Star are set to open the citizenM Washington, DC Georgetown this month, marking the brand’s third hotel in the US capital.
Located in Georgetown near the historic C&O Canal, the 230-room property will be the first citizenM hotel to open since the brand joined Marriott Bonvoy.
Designed by architecture firm Concrete Amsterdam, the hotel features a 24-hour gym, coworking and lounge spaces, a canteenM food and beverage outlet, and artwork from local artist J.D. Deardourff.
Guest rooms will include XL king-size beds, rain showers, and in-room iPads that allow guests to control room features such as lighting, temperature and entertainment.
Lennert de Jong, chief executive officer of Another Star, which operates the citizenM portfolio, said: “Georgetown is widely recognised as a creative and cultural hub within the city and we are excited to become part of this community.”
Peggy Roe, EVP and chief customer officer, Marriott International, said: “citizenM has always been a brand that sees travel differently. It understands that today’s travellers are looking for more than a place to stay – they want to feel connected to the energy, culture, and character of the places they visit. With the opening of citizenM Washington, DC Georgetown, guests are invited into one of the city’s most vibrant neighbourhoods through a hospitality experience that is thoughtful, design-forward, and unmistakably human.”
