UK: Colliers International has announced it is bringing three Scottish hotels, which formerly focused on coach tour guests, to market.
The group is collaborating with Scottish agent Graham + Sibbald to market Hart Hotels, which comprises The Glenmorag Hotel in Dunoon, the Garve Hotel in Garve and Mackay’s Hotel in Strathpeffer.
Hart Hotels was a part of the David Urquhart Group’s portfolio before the group collapsed in May as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. All three properties went up for sale soon after, with proceeds aiming to generate enough money to repay creditors.
Initial efforts focused on identifying buyers within the hospitality sphere. Since then, however, Colliers has expanded its reach, searching for opportunities in other business sectors.
Robert Smithson from Colliers International said: “All three hotels are well-located and offers are being invited for the portfolio or for the hotels individually. However, in addition to attracting interest from hospitality operators they have also been the focus of attention from developers who can see their potential for other purposes such as healthcare, residential, leisure and automotive.”
The three properties feature 177 collective beds, with various different amenities including dining, banqueting and bar facilities. Colliers has also highlighted features such as nearby scenery and available land, to appeal to developers looking for more diverted projects.
Colliers has brought many other hospitality properties to the market this year. This includes Wiltshire staple Stanton House Hotel, and The Castle House and Canterbury Hotels in the South East.
