UK: GuestHouse Hotels will open a third property in Margate in June 2023, which will join locations in York and Bath.
No.42 Margate will offer 21 bedrooms, a restaurant, rooftop bar, a beachfront cafe, lounge space and a spa. Interiors are being led by the in-house design team at GuestHouse.
It is housed in the former Sands Hotel, which was originally constructed in 1888 and known at the time as The Terrace Hotel.
Most of the guest rooms will have sea views and private balconies. Alongside British-made furniture, local artists will be featured throughout the bedrooms. For example, Laura Ann Coates will create individual murals around each bed, and Jo and Jess of Margate Design Collective will design the wardrobe drapery, bed valances and the upholstered ceilings.
Additional in-room amenities include a record player with vinyl selection, books, beach towels and a beach bag, recyclable slippers, compostable coffee pods, natural mat mattresses and full-sized refillable bathroom products.
The opening of No.42 Margate marks the third hotel in the portfolio, with a fourth site in Brighton to follow in late 2023. The Brighton hotel is being converted from a part Grade II-Listed Georgian building that used to be townhouses.
GuestHouse first launched in 2021 and is led by three brothers: Tristan, James and Tom Guest.
