UK: Boutique property Homewood Hotel and Spa has announced the next phase of their hotel development plan.
The group is planning to expand, with their new Homewood Lodge and Terrace, which will add 10 guest rooms and suites to the hotel’s total.
Homewood is hoping to open the new extension a by the end of late summer, with delays laid in place due to the global pandemic. Both the terrace and the lodge are currently planned to open in August.
The new extensions combine the scenic views over the Avon Valley with the unique art style the hoteliers, Christa and Ian Taylor, are known for. New Rooms will keep a unique, cosy feeling, while terrace feels open and summery, in keeping with the al fresco theme.
Ian Taylor said of the design: “We are continually sourcing interesting artworks, collections, books, fabrics, lamps to give each room an individual personality. Items are already being ear marked from our warehouse which will give a quirky feeling and design inspiration.”
The terrace will contain a new restaurant as well, focusing on Mediterranean cuisine and local produce. The property has hired executive chef Jamie Foreman, whose cuisine focuses on sustainability and farm to table, with an emphasis on kitchen gardens.
Ed Fitzpatrick, Homewood general manager said: “Homewood is perfectly placed for working with some great artisan producers, many within just 20 miles, so we look forward to shining a spotlight on these when the time comes.”
This continues a period of strong growth for Homewood, who recently relaunched in October of 2019.
The Kaleidoscope Collection’s other hotel, The Bird is also making plans for the end of lockdown, planning to bring their popular pop-up The Nook back. The Terrace Garden provides a unique location for people to get a drink after a long day of work, or to start the weekend off.
