The Mandeville London partners with Smarter Giving to support care workers and locals

UK: The Mandeville Hotel in Marylebone has implemented a series of COVID-19 initiatives with the help of Smarter Giving to engage with St Mary’s Hospital and local food banks, as well as local residents.

The hotel is offering its concierge services to assist with groceries and pharmacy pick-ups to those who need it in the Marylebone area.

All deliveries comply with necessary government measures to ensure an entirely contactless service.

The Mandeville is also donating 100 weekly wellbeing boxes to Westminster’s St Mary’s Hospital. Staff who are unable to return home and are self-isolating will receive care packages including toothbrushes and toothpaste, shampoo and conditioner, bottled water and snacks.

Smarter Giving is helping to ensure that packages reach health care workers.

Parking spaces located behind The Mandeville Hotel, in close proximity to UCL and St Mary’s Hospitality, are available to those essential workers travelling by car.

The NHS will also be gifted a gift voucher to be used over 18 months when an equivalent gift voucher is purchased at The Mandeville. Vouchers bought between now and the end of June will be matched by the hotel and sent to the NHS or those key workers directly nominated.

For stays form July 1st until end of September, 20 per cent will be donated to Cook-19, a volunteer programme delivering meals to key workers.

Chetan Bhanot, general manager at The Mandeville, said: “This is a time we need to come together and support our community and those essential workers who are keeping us all safe. We have our team employed to ensure we can do what we can to help. We are also actively working on a safe comeback plan whereby we can engage with guests to ensure their safety and wellbeing, with a series of contactless initiatives.”
