Hotel and spa planned for Yorkshire Sculpture Park

UK: Leeds developer Rushbond has announced plans for a luxury hotel and spa at Yorkshire Sculpture Park (YSP) in Wakefield, West Yorkshire.

Rushbond has worked on a proposal to refurbish Bretton Hall, a Grade II* listed mansion house at YSP, in partnership with architects DLA and hotel consultancy EPR.

As well as restoring the existing building, a contemporary new structure will be added, giving a combined total of 77 rooms.

A planning application hasbeen submitted, which also allows for the development of a business park and 39,000 square feet of office space.

The company is looking for a hotel and spa operator to partner with for the project.

Rushbond managing director Jonathan Maud said: “The submission of the planning application is an important milestone in our shared vision sympathetically to transform Bretton Hall into a truly stunning hotel/business park opportunity.”
