UK: Luxury property Hotel Gotham, located on King Street in Manchester, will reopen as The Rex on 23rd April.

Housed within a former bank, the 60-room boutique hotel was acquired by Leonardo Hotels UK & Ireland in May 2024, supported by the Fattal Partnership Fund through Leonardo’s parent company.

Upon acquisition, it was revealed that the “Hotel Gotham” name would only remain for a limited period under license. The hotel also joined the Leonardo Limited Edition luxury collection at the time.

A key focus of the rebrand was the hotel’s private members club, Reserve. Situated on the seventh floor, it offers three rooftop terraces, a small-plate menu, and events space Treasury set within the original bank vaults.

The rebrand coincides with an elevation of its spaces including both hotel’s restaurant and bar.

Jenny Oh, general manager of The Rex, said: “While our name has evolved, the hotel our guests know and love remains very much the same. This rebrand is an expressive upgrade, retaining the character, comfort, and connection people cherish, while introducing a more modern, sophisticated expression of who we are today. It reflects our commitment to our guests, our team, and the community we’re proud to be part of, while honouring the history that has shaped us.”
