Italy: Hotel Heureka, a boutique hotel set in a 16th century Venetian palazzo, has opened for business after a two-year refurbishment.
Hotel Heureka is in the Cannaregio neighbourhood, overlooking the Madonna dell’Orto canal and gardens.
The hotel features “contemporary design, striking architecture, unique furnishings, sumptuous fabrics and quirky touches”. Its 10 individually styled rooms are a mix of deluxe doubles and suites, each with four-poster beds, Lacroix textile-drops as bed-heads, double Rubelli brocade silks at the windows, scape lamps, designer bathrooms with free-standing baths, and Julian Khol commissioned art.

This palazzo dates back to the 16th Century and the restoration “now sees a smooth overlap between the architectural grandeur of the past and contemporary quirkiness of today”.
