Japan: The Hotel Higashiyama by Kyoto Tokyu Hotel is scheduled to open on July 7, 2022, in Kyoto.
Hotel Higashiyama is located close to the Chionin temple, Heianjingu shrine, and national and city museums. It has been built on the ruins of a primary school, including five floors above ground and a basement level.
Rooms are arranged around a central courtyard with a Japanese garden. Each room comes with a “tea box” full of original tea utensils that guests can use to brew their own Japanese tea.
There are 168 guest rooms in total, with 81 double rooms, 80 twin rooms, and seven suites.
Amenities at the hotel include an outdoor foot spa, a gym, a 78 seat restaurant and bar, a tea bar, and three private bathes available for guest use.
