Oman: InterContinental Hotels Group [IHG] has inked a deal to bring a second Hotel Indigo property to the Middle East by 2022.
The new hotel, Hotel Indigo Jabal Al Akhdar, will open in one of Oman’s ancient capitals, Nizwa.
Current plans for the location have the hotel sitting by the nearby mountain range, so guests may easily access a variety of leisure and culture activities. No statements have been made about the aesthetic design of the property as of yet, but IHG has said the property will be “design-led”
Pascal Gauvin, IHG managing director India, Middle East and Africa, said: “Combined with an excellent location, I am confident Hotel Indigo Jabal Al Akhdar will be a destination on its own and will be a popular choice amongst international, regional and domestic visitors alike… The brand is a great fit for the region – it caters to new guest segments that are visiting the Middle East and are looking for a more individualistic experience and want to feel immersed in the destination they are visiting.”
This is the second middle eastern property from the Hotel Indigo brand after its Dubai property, slated to open later this month. The brand also opened its first hotel in Japan this year, in the town of Hakone Gora.
