The Hoxton opens second hotel in Amsterdam

The Hoxton Amsterdam

The Netherlands: Located in the Eastern Docklands neighbourhood, The Hoxton has opened its second hotel in Amsterdam.

The Hoxton, Lloyd Amsterdam is housed in a building originally built by the Royal Dutch Lloyd Shipping Company. It features 136-rooms, a restaurant and cocktail bar, as well as brand’s events concept The Apartment.

Ennismore’s AIME Studios teamed up with local firm Nicemakers for the hotel’s interiors. Neighbouring gallery Bisou has installed an all-Dutch art collection, while the Hox Gallery will be curated in partnership with local collective Stitching Kunstwerk Loods6. Graffiti artist Toscanabanana will take up a six month residency creating an exterior mural.

New concept rooms have been added to The Hoxton, Lloyd Amsterdam. This includes the Tower Room with a spiral staircase; Tune Room equipped with a grand piano; and the Gather Room, featuring a separate dining area and oversized bed.

Open all-day, Breman Brasserie serves European and South American cuisine. As well as the restaurant, it offers a 270-seater outdoor terrace. Over in the cocktail bar Barbue, the menu has been designed in collaboration with Tato Giovannoni, founder of Floreria Atlantico in Buenos Aires.

Set on the ground floor, the hotel’s event space includes two private rooms – the Dining Room and the Drawing Room – based around a central kitchen pantry.

Curated events include monthly running clubs in partnership with streetwear brand Patta. The Hoxton’s neighbourhood shop, Best Of, also features local brands and products including candles from Very Goods Studios, mugs from Pansy, scarves by Studio SKARV, and exclusive trainers by Baskèts.
