Saudi Arabia: Hyatt has entered into a management agreement with The Red Sea Development Company for a 180-room luxury wellness resort.

Located on Saudi Arabia’s Shura Island, Miraval The Red Sea is slated to open in phase one of the Red Sea development. The resort will be designed by Foster+Partners.

It will offer 180 guest rooms and suites, including 20 villas, spread across three million square-feet. It is also expected to house the largest spa within the Red Sea destination.

The Life in Balance Spa will encompass nearly 40,000 square-feet and 39 treatment rooms. Several  rooms will be set up for art, music, wellness lectures, and hands-on workshops led by Miraval specialists.

A further 4,300 square-feet of meeting space will host wellness-focused activities for social and corporate groups. 

Several dining venues at the resort will include the main restaurant Life in Balance Culinary Kitchen, as well as a marketplace offering healthy cuisine.

When open, Miraval The Red Sea will join Grand Hyatt The Red Sea which is also under construction as the second Hyatt-branded hotel within the Red Sea development.

The Red Sea Project is expected to become the Kingdom’s international leisure destination and main driver of Saudi Arabia’s tourism industry. It includes 124 miles of coastline with an archipelago of more than 90 islands, dormant volcanoes, desert, mountains, and a variety of wildlife.
