Japan: Fuji Speedway Hotel in Shizuoka will be Hyatt’s first property in Japan under The Unbound Collection brand, set to open this autumn.

The hotel is located in Oyama town in the foothills of Mount Fuji, home to the Fuji Speedway racing circuit.

It will offer 120 guest rooms and a motorsports museum housing rare automobiles and other collections.

Other facilities include multiple fine dining restaurants and bars, an indoor pool, a fitness centre, natural onsen hot-spring bathing facilities, a spa, a flexible ballroom and a function room.

Hyatt collaborated with Towa Real Estate Co. Ltd for the project, an affiliate of TOYOTA Group. It marks the first hotel in the world to be built by Towa Real Estate.

Masao Ukai, president of Towa Real Estate Co. Ltd, said: “This luxury hotel will be an integral part of a motorsports-themed entertainment area with Fuji Speedway at its core. Together, Motorsports Village and The Unbound Collection by Hyatt brand will provide guests with environmentally conscious and unconventional experiences as we aim to make motorsports more accessible and entertaining.”

Motorsports Village is a 27 hectare site which Towa is also developing. Plans include an amusement area with professional car racing team garages, glamping facilities, hot spring baths and outdoor event plazas.
