R Collection enters metaverse with NFT sale

Italy: R Collection Hotels Group is selling a non-fungible token (NFT) of its Grand Hotel Victoria in Menaggio.  As of 31 January 2022, R Collection Hotels has been online on the OpenSea platform – an NFT marketplace where customers can buy and sell digital art. R Collection aims to expand its portfolio of activities and experiences by creating a platform in which customers can buy cryptocurrencies in the form of NFTs, including goods and services such as special stays and guided tours. In partnership with Takyon, R Collection Hotels is selling a two-night stay for two people with dinner and massage at the Grand Hotel Victoria.  The owner of the NFT will be able to redeem the artwork for the physical trip, available for an open date between May and December this year.  It is mentioned on the Takyon website that guests will be able to personalise their NFT by adding pictures, video and audio to the token. Takyon has also partnered with Up2You – a company which offsets travel carbon emissions through certified projects around the world.  Owners of a Takyon NFT will be able join the Takyon community, which includes pre-sale access to trip releases, planned giveaways, events and more.  The sale of the two-night stay at Grand Hotel Victoria ends 28 March 2022.
