US: Joie de Vivre Hotels is set to open The Troubadour, its first New Orleans hotel in the autumn.
Set in a 17-storey building in the Central Business District, the 184-room hotel is the result of a partnership between owner Slumber Corners, operator Commune Hotels & Resorts, chef Phillip Lopez, Campo Architects; and interior design firm Paletteur.
“This city brings alive our brand and its ‘Joy of Life’ ethos. The Troubadour will offer guests an exciting range of modern and locally rooted experiences in an eclectic, Southern-inspired setting that we hope will become a part of New Orleans’ storied history,” said Niki Leondakis, CEO of Commune Hotels & Resorts.
Originally developed as an office building, the building at 1111 Gravier St, was recently added to the National Register of Historic Places. Paying homage to the building, the first floor will be centered around an original staircase, which will lead to the second-floor lounge and meeting rooms.
