UK: The Keswick Country House Hotel, a historic Lake District’s hotel, has been brought to market by Colliers for the first time in 24 years.
Handled by Colliers’ hotels team, the Victorian-era property comprises 73 en-suite bedrooms, including two suites and four junior suites, across the main house and the Old Station Annexe.
It has been under the same private ownership for 24 years, with continuous investment supporting a strong trading base. For the year ending June 2024, it generated net turnover exceeding £4 million.
Located within five acres of landscaped grounds near Keswick town centre, the hotel includes The Lonsdale Restaurant, Garden Room, Keswick Bar and Lounge, meeting spaces, and staff accommodation across 38 bedrooms.
Julian Troup, head of Colliers hotels agency, said: “There is substantial demand from both domestic and international hotel buyers for high quality hotels in tourism hotspots such as the Lake District. We anticipate a healthy level of interest in the Keswick Country House Hotel.
“Last month we sold the 70-bedroom Ambleside Salutation Hotel and Spa for in excess of the guide price, adding to the high volume of UK hotel sales that we have concluded already this year, and demonstrating the continuing confidence in the market from a diverse range of buyers,” he added.
“Substantial offers” are being sought for the freehold.
