Kimpton Hotel Theta opens following redesign

Kimpton Hotel Theta

US: Luxury lifestyle property Kimpton Hotel Theta, managed by Highgate, has opened in New York City following a redesign overseen by LUCID.

The 364-room hotel was originally built by Morris Lapidus, an architect known for his work throughout Miami Beach. Highgate’s in-house design and construction studio LUCID alongside Brooklyn-based CRÈME/Jun Aizaki Architecture & Design led the reimagining of the property.

A new lobby living room provides communal and private seating with the Cafe Otto serving coffee from local partner Afficionado Coffee Roasters.

Opening in 2024, Bar Sprezzatura – a rooftop restaurant in partnership with TableOne Hospitality – will launch as the second location for the brand.

In-room amenities include Atelier Bloem bath products, Kassatex linen robes, and yoga mats on request. Additional amenities include complimentary Mini Me Milk Fridges, delivered in-room on request, to help guests safely store breast milk; a free in-door plant via Kimpton’s Plant Pals program; custom designed Kimpton PUBLIC bikes available to rent; and curated city itineraries.

“New York City is known for its electrifying environment, so we’re excited to partner with Kimpton in offering a space for both leisure and business guests to recharge and reset while in close proximity to the city’s main hubs and attractions,” said general manager Mark Pandaleon. “Kimpton Hotel Theta has a sense of retreat that permeates every corner, allowing warmth and familiarity to envelope guests and curate an ultra-personalised experience.”
