Ireland: The five-star boutique hotel The Dylan, located in Dublin, has finished the refurbishment of its 44 original rooms and suites led by interior design firm Tonik Associates.
The new refurbishment adds to the hotel’s 28-bedroom wing extension which opened in 2017.
Led by Caroline Campbell from Tonik, sustainable considerations such as repurposing existing artwork and furniture were featured as part of the redesign.
As a result of the hotel’s partnership with art director Catherine O’Riordan of So Fine Art Editions Gallery, a curated portfolio of artwork and prints are included in the bedrooms. Featured artists include Emma O’Hara, Shane O’Driscoll, Colm Toolan, Mary O’Connor, and Alice Fitzgerald.
Additionally, Dylan Hotel collaborated with Gem Joinery, based in County Longford, to craft bespoke walnut joinery for each guest room.
Conor Dillon, general manager of the Dylan Hotel, said: “The completion of the redesign of the bedrooms brings a balance to the hotel, as this deep refurbishment of the original bedrooms and all guest corridors finalises the entire refurbishment of the hotel since its opening in 2006.
“With subtle nods to the elegant Victorian architecture woven throughout the design, we are excited to provide our guests with an enhanced experience that beautifully marries our rich history with modern comfort,” he added.
