Spain: Marking its Spanish debut, Kimpton Vividora Hotel will be located in the Gothic Quarter of Barcelona and is set to open early next year.
Kimpton’s creative director and global SVP of design, Ave Bradley, collaborated with local design agency, El Equipo Creativo, to deliver an authentic Barcelona feel to the 156-guest rooms and three restaurants and bars.
On the hotel’s ground floor, Café Got will offer locally-roasted artisan coffee and light bites during the day, serving natural wines, artisanal vermouth and cocktail by night.
One floor up, the Fauna restaurant – headed by chef Ferran López – will serve a menu rooted in Mediterranean flavours and family recipes with a twist.
The rooftop bar, Terraza de Vivi, will feature a pool, sun loungers and pergolas. Offering expansive views of the city, the bar will offer cocktails paired with creative small plates.
General manager, Mike Robinson, will oversee the opening of the hotel. He said: “We are very excited to bring Kimpton to Spain for the first time. From the thriving diversity and inclusiveness, to the passion for gastronomy and the arts, we couldn’t think of a more fitting first city than Barcelona. We are honoured to be the Gothic Quarter’s new neighbour and member of the community, as well as soon becoming Barcelona’s best loved hotel”.
Robinson has over 15 years of experience in the luxury boutique sector, and 13 years of experience with Kimpton Hotels. In the US, he managed the flagship 335-room Kimpton Palomar in Washington DC, and has helped with the openings of several Kimpton hotels in the Americas.
Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants began in San Francisco in 1981, and became a brand of the InterContinental Hotels Group in 2015.
Kimpton now operates more than 65 hotels and 80 restaurants, bars and lounges across the globe.
