Maidstone Hotel added to Life House's portfolio

Maidstone Hotel

US: Located in East Hampton, New York, Maidstone Hotel will be operated by Life House through summer 2021 with the owners Jenny and Jonathan Baker remaining involved in the property’s creative direction moving forward.

The Baker’s acquired the hotel in 2008. It’s more than 150 years old and has previously used as a tannery and full-tine inn.

Jenny Baker has overseen the property’s repositioning to a “Scandinavian Cozy” hospitality concept, a term she coined. It offers environmentally friendly communal spaces, modern design, curated art and locally sourced food and beverage.

Jonathan Baker’s aromatherapy products will continue to feature in-room and for sale on-property.

The owners commented: “We are thrilled to welcome Life House to The Hamptons! We have searched for a professional fun team to continue our work with respect for the past while focusing on the future and believe we have hit the jackpot!”

Rami Zeidan, founder and CEO of Life House, added: “We are really excited to be working with Jenny and Jonathan to steward their Maidstone Hotel, a partnership that represents our strong commitment to leveraging software to meaningfully improve even the most special & nuanced independent hotels out there.”

The Maidstone Hotel also comprises the Maidstone Restaurant, of which Life House’s in-house creative team will collaborate with the owners to create a new restaurant and bar concept.

Life House operates and brands four-star hotels across the US and Mexico. The group recently added six properties in Nantucket to its growing portfolio, acquired by partners Blue Flag.
