UK: Ashton House Design has announced the launch of Torquay’s first luxury spa at the Lincombe Hall Hotel.
Completing the refurbishment of Lincombe Hall, the new spa and treatment facilities feature a hydro pool, a Scandinavian sauna, aromatherapy steam room, a Himalayan saltt room and ice room, seven treatment rooms, and a gym.
Ashton House Design advised on all stages of the work, from concept, initial design and layout, through to finishing touches of the new build.
Quirky features include ‘divers’ hooks and a curated collection of jelly fish glass sculptures displayed on custom-built shelving.
The design incorporates a number of specially commissioned installations. For example, the ‘Jelly Fish’ illuminated wall provides a backdrop in the pool room – a high glass wall mural featuring upscaled photographic images of jelly fish that is lit from behind, changing from day to night.
In the gym, one wall features a mural by artist Eliza Southwood, who specialises in screen printing and is known for her cycling-themed work. The piece for Lincombe Spa features the architecture of Torquay Harbour.
Ashton House Design director Simon Bantock said: “We were delighted to be part of this inspiring and ambitious project. We were involved right from the start which meant that we can influence every detail and the result is a luxury spa destination that the area can be proud of.”
Ashton House Design is a group of interior designers with more than 80 years of combined design experience across multiple disciplines.
Lincombe Hall Hotel & Spa is a four-star hotel home to 44 bedrooms, plus a bistro and restaurant.
