UK: The 17-room Urbanista Hotel in Liverpool City Centre has been brought to market by Christie & Co, with serious offers invited by Friday 29th January off a guide price of £1,500,000.

The boutique hotel located on Bold Street opened in late 2019, operated by Voya Hotels. Rooms come in a variety of different sizes from doubles to quads and larger suites, with a total sleeping capacity up to 58 guests.

Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the hotel’s owners Evolve Property Group have decided to sell the property.

An events space on the top floor proved popular during the first UK lockdown in March 2020. Guidelines allowed a maximum of 30 people to gather in private social spaces. This was then reduced to 15, followed by Liverpool being placed under Tier Three restrictions.

The latest national lockdown, which came into force 6 January 2021, has led to the decision to sell.

David Colebourn, owner of Urbanista Hotel, said: “The pandemic has created unprecedented times and as a result, we’ve made the decision to restructure the business. We’re really proud of how we’ve transformed the building to create Urbanista and its interior reflects the vibrant hotel that it is, including the new top floor private events space.”

Ryan Lynn, director at Christie & Co, said: “We see this as a fantastic opportunity for the buyer to take over a property that has been fully fitted out and refurbished in 2020. Unfortunately, due to Covid our clients didn’t get the chance to open and trade the business fully, but due to its fantastic location and the standard of the property, rooms and space in general, we believe this will be a very successful business for a buyer going into 2021 and beyond.”

There is the option of a management agreement if a buyer wants a management team to run the new business for them, or vacant possession as required.
