UK: Michelin star chef, Mark Kempson, will open The Six Restaurant at The Kings Arms Hotel in August.

With a menu designed by Mark Kempson, and led by head chef, Jack Scoines, The Six Restaurant will champion local produce to offer a modern twist on traditional British cuisine.

Fresh herbs and vegetables will be hand-picked from the Hampton Court Palace Kitchen to create the Palace Garden Salad. Other seasonal dishes include a whole native lobster and a classic hearty burger.

Christine Wilford, landscape designer from Green Arden, has also created a private terrace at the front of the restaurant for guests to dine and enjoy the green surroundings.

Set within the Grade II listed building of The Kings Arms, the restaurant will pay homage to the period style of the property. The original wooden fireplace has been beautifully restored, complementing the deep navy banquettes which line the soft, pale walls.

Sourcing local materials played an important factor in the reimagining of the restaurant and hotel. Not only will The Six Restaurant present an ethical menu, but fabrics from British manufacturer, Angel and Boho, as well as skincare products from local business, Jenny Betts, will be used to decorate and supply each of the guest rooms.

Regarding the interior, the hotel features an open lounge and reception of pink and pale grey tones, furnished with antique marble tables and period seating.

All 14 guest bedrooms reflect a variation of this colour scheme, whilst handmade mosaic tiles in the rain showers add a stylish, unique touch.

In contrast, the hotel bar is draped in warm indigo velvet, where its subdued lighting creates an intimate setting for customers and hotel residents.

The Kings Arms Hotel will open in August, and can be found nestled by the Lion Gate of Hampton Court Palace opposite the Royal Deer Park.
