UK: Design Hotels’ first member hotel in Scotland, Market Street Hotel, is set to open in Edinburgh this summer.
The 98-room hotel is set between the New Town’s Georgian façades and the Baronial tenements of the Old Town, Edinburgh.
Award-winning Dutch design studio FG Stijl worked on the interiors of the hotel. Reinterpretations of classic national motifs have been woven into the multi-layered design, culminating in a series of five floating copper fireplaces that together replicate the first notes of “The Flower of Scotland”.
The hotel features a rooftop Champagne lounge, Nor’ Loft, that features over 10 labels, a spirits list and an open fireplace.
