Caribbean: The O:live Boutique Hotel, in San Juan, Puerto Rico, has opened its doors.

The O:live Boutique Hotel, in the Condado neighborhood, is part of the Small Luxury Hotels of the World (SLH) network.

Owners Loisse Herger and Fernando Davila say the property has been influenced by their experiences of traveling in the Mediterranean. It has 15 rooms equipped with “see thru” spa showers, tablets, smartphones plasma TVs, a library of films, concerts and European books, free internet throughout the hotel, and complementary “tea time”.

Loisse Herger Anadón said: “O:live represent the work, the passion and the labour of artists and artisans from the regions of Provence and Tuscany, you can breathe that as you enter. We took care of translating with every detail a history of the Mediterranean. We want to be the pioneers in the development of boutique hotels in Puerto Rico and want to ensure that the tourists have an experience, not just a stay.”

The hotel is divided into four areas: Morocco, Spain, Italy and France. Each floor features the inspiration for each country in the form of a private collection of photographs taken by the owners during multiple trips by the Mediterranean.

The hotel’s restaurant, O:liva Mediterranean Cuisine, is also open, with a rooftop club for members and hotel guests to follow shortly.
