UK: Spain’s largest hotel group, Meliá Hotels International, will open the 161-room INNSiDE Newcastle hotel on 14 December 2020.
Located on the historical Quayside with views across the River Tyne, the hotel has been designed by Faulknerbrowns Architects.
It has five creative meeting spaces with maximum capacity for 170. The Big Ideas Space is a meeting area complete with sofas and armchairs, smart screens and playful items. The property’s largest meeting area, which can be divided into three, is named The Keelmen Suite after The Keelmen of Tyne and Wear which transported coal from the banks of both rivers.
Breakout events space with views from the mezzanine overlook the open living lounge below. This lobby area serves food throughout the day and will feature local DJs.
Other amenities include a restaurant with outdoor terrace and a 24 hour gym complete with Technogym equipment.
The hotel will offer a Workcation package for business travellers, and Meliá PRO members can take advantage of the hotel’s introductory meeting rates which start from £25 per person for half a day including lunch.
Single-use paper and plastic have also been eliminated throughout the hotel, and sustainable amenities such as 100 per cent eco-friendly bedlinen and towels can be found in the guest rooms.
INNSiDE Newcastle will join other INNSiDE hotels spread across 10 countries in 28 locations, with 13 additional properties in the pipeline. Upcoming openings include INNSiDE Liverpool and INNSiDE Lisbon.
