Moxy hotel to arrive in Mexico

Mexico: Marriott International has announced plans to open a Moxy hotel in Mexico City, expected to open in 2022.

Work on the 120-room hotel is to begin late next year, and will be the first Moxy-branded property in the Caribbean-Mexico region.

Located in Paseo de la Reforma, amenities will include a rooftop bar, “buzzing social spaces”, and a 24/7 grab and go offering.

Laurent de Kousemaeker, Marriott’s chief development officer in the Caribbean and Latin America, said: “Moxy is a great fit for Mexico City, a destination known for its vibrancy, youthful energy, and dynamic arts culture and we see significant potential for this brand throughout Mexico and Latin America. We are pleased to collaborate with Grupo Elipse and look forward to working with them on this milestone project”.

Grupo Elipse is a real estate development and construction group. From the company, Ricardo Czukerberg, added: “We are thrilled to bring the Moxy brand to Mexico and provide a new go-to location for next-Gen travellers. It’s exciting working with Marriott International, and drawing on the expertise of this global travel powerhouse gives us high confidence in the project’s success”.

Moxy currently operates 50 hotels across North America, Europe, and Asia Pacific.
