Switzerland: In spring 2021 The Woodward will open in Geneva, a 26-suite hotel owned by Bastion Holdings.
Designed by architect Pierre-Yves Rochon, the hotel is located on Quai Wilson on the shores of Lake Geneva, and is currently being completely transformed.
Each of the 26-suites will be individually designed, with 21 of the rooms offering a full lake view. The Presidential Suite comes with a private dining room and loggia, and the Royal Suite is reached by a private lift.
Michelin-starred restaurants L’Atelier de Joël Robuchon and the vegetable driven Le Jardinier will be led by Olivier Jean and Alain Verzeroli respectively. L’Atelier de Joël Robuchon will feature an open kitchen concept for 36 guests seated around the counter, as well as two dining rooms that can be privatised. Le Jardinier will be the restaurant’s first foray into Europe following the success of its outposts in New York and Miami.
The Woodward will also offer two bars and a tea-room, as well as a private digestif lounge which will be transformed from a former vault of the hotel’s history as a bank.
The hotels spa will include a Wellness Institute by Maison Guerlain and a 21-metre indoor swimming pool. A gym, two saunas, two steam rooms, two Swedish baths and a jacuzzi, plus six wellness suites, will also be available.
Timo Gruenert, CEO of Oetker Collection, said: “Our hotels are all unique masterpieces in their own right, and The Woodward fits in perfectly with its extraordinary location, refined interior design and exciting culinary offerings.
