Park Hyatt Chicago plans $60m renovation

Executive suite at Park Hyatt Chicago

US: Park Hyatt Chicago will temporarily close in January 2022 to undergo a renovation of all 198 guest rooms and suites, with a scheduled reopening of April 2022.

The redesign will be overseen by Anderson/Miller Ltd, drawing inspiration from the neighbouring Water Tower Park.

Further details about the work is set to be released closer to the project start date. It is currently known that organic materials will be used.

Area vice president and general manager, Colleen Kareti, said: “Since 1980, Park Hyatt Chicago has been providing luxurious accommodations, highly personalised service and a home-away-from-home for discerning global travellers and the Chicago community. This renovation will allow us to reimagine the guest experience and continue to provide an unparalleled level of luxury for all who walk through our doors.”

The hotel is located on Michigan Avenue with views of Lake Michigan. When the property first opened, it marked the first hotel under the Park Hyatt brand.

Amenities include three dining venues: NoMI Kitchen, NoMI Lounge and NoMI Garden; 5,000 square feet of meeting and event space, and a swimming pool.

Hyatt Hotels currently has 45 Park Hyatt properties globally. Locations include Abu Dhabi, Bangkok, Buenos Aires, Istanbul, Maldives, Melbourne, Milan, Paris, Zurich, and more.
